I heart SBD

If any of you are struggling and looking for a diet that you can maintain over time, I have had success a couple times with the South Beach diet.  It may be the only way any of you can catch me!  SBD's foods and philosophy of limiting sugar and eating whole foods is similar to the ABs diet, but a little more restrictive.

The 1st 2 weeks on Phase 1 of SBD are challenging because you're cutting out sugar and starch.  However, the recipes are simple and you can't argue with the results!  For example, last week I made homemade cream of broccoli soup, almond crusted chicken rolled up with pesto and feta, and had a big sashimi dinner complete with seaweed salad and miso soup.  Not too bad for a "diet".  Once phase 1 is over fruits and whole grains are re-introduced making "normal" eating much more manageable.

  2. During phase 2 you can have a glass of wine or 2 or a light beer with a meal. No alcohol during phase 1.

  3. Gotcha! I'm gonna check SBD out. I need to develop a different plan from what I have now - that's clearly not working!
